Clinacyn works to combat a group of infections caused by certain types of bacteria, whether they are anaerobic and sensitive or Gram-positive strains such as streptococci, staphylococci, and pneumococci, including upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, pelvic infections, infections inside the abdominal cavity, blood poisoning, endocarditis, in addition to dental infections.
Clinacyn can also be used as an alternative treatment option when combined with quinine or amodiaquine to treat cases of malaria caused by the Plasmodium falciparum parasite that is resistant to multiple types of drugs.
