Oxytetryne is used to treat respiratory tract infections such as sore throat, sinusitis, and pneumonia. It is also used to treat skin infections such as acne and boils, urinary tract infections such as bladder and kidney infections, sexually transmitted diseases, and some types of bacterial infections that affect the digestive system, such as diarrhea caused by certain bacteria.
Oxytetryne can also be used as supportive treatment in certain cases of typhoid fever or other diseases caused by staphylococcus and salmonella bacteria.
