Tobrin eye drops are used to treat bacterial eye infections. They contain an antibiotic that stops the growth of harmful bacteria that cause inflammation. The drops help relieve annoying symptoms such as itching, redness, increased tearing, and a burning sensation. They are also used in some cases after eye surgeries to prevent infection. The drops are placed in the affected eye several times daily according to the doctor's instructions. Care must be taken not to touch the tip of the dropper to the eye to avoid contamination.
Tobrin must be continued for the entire specified period, even if symptoms disappear, to avoid a recurrence of the infection. A doctor must be consulted before use if there are eye health problems or if other topical medications are used.
