Voltaren Gel is a topical preparation used to relieve pain and inflammation in muscles and joints. It contains diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. When applied to the skin, Voltaren Gel reduces inflammation and relieves pain in the affected area. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and joint pain resulting from rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis.
Voltaren Skin is also used to treat sprains, muscle strains, and sports injuries. Voltaren Gel works directly at the site of pain, reducing the need for oral medication and reducing systemic side effects. Apply the gel to the affected area two to three times daily and massage gently until absorbed. Avoid applying it to open wounds or irritated skin.
