streptokinase is mainly used in medical conditions that require dissolving blood clots and improving blood flow within the vessels. This medicine is part of the medicines known as clot dissolvers or thrombolytic medicines. It is usually prescribed to treat conditions such as acute blood clots in the heart, known as acute myocardial infarction. streptokinase is also used in cases of acute pulmonary embolism that may lead to blockage of the pulmonary arteries, which impedes blood flow to the lungs.
