Klacid is used to treat a variety of medical conditions including acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute maxillary sinusitis, fungal infections, stomach or duodenal ulcers, sore throat or tonsillitis, streptococcal throat infections, pneumonia acquired outside the hospital, whooping cough, skin infections, and prevention of endocarditis.
Klacid may be used as an alternative to penicillin in patients who are allergic to penicillin, in the treatment of some conditions such as the prevention of bacterial endocarditis in individuals at risk of infection or in other similar conditions.
