Azalide capsules are used to treat lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia or bronchitis, upper respiratory tract infections including sore throat, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis, as well as ear infections such as otitis media, and skin and soft tissue infections, such as abscesses or boils.
Azalide also treats genital infections in men and women resulting from uncomplicated sexually transmitted diseases. The treatment is used to eliminate streptococcal bacteria that cause sore throat.
