    Medicine Description vanish 10/40mg

VANISH is a lipid-lowering medication used to reduce elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. It combines two active ingredients with complementary mechanisms of action: ezetimibe reduces the absorption of cholesterol from the intestine, while simvastatin decreases cholesterol production in the liver.

Together, these actions help improve blood lipid levels, reduce the buildup of fatty deposits within the arteries, and lower the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke. VANISH is intended to be used alongside a heart-healthy diet, regular exercise, and other lifestyle modifications.

    VANISH Ingredients

    • Ezetimibe.

    • Simvastatin.

    VANISH Strengths

    • Film-coated tablets, 10 mg/40 mg.

    • Pack containing 7 tablets.

    Uses of VANISH

    • Reduction of elevated LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels.

    • Lowering high triglyceride levels.

    • Increasing HDL ("good") cholesterol levels.

    • Prevention of cardiovascular disease in patients with atherosclerosis.

    • Reduction of the risk of heart attack and stroke in high-risk patients.

    • Treatment of primary or familial hypercholesterolemia.

    VANISH Dosage

The usual adult dose is one tablet once daily, preferably in the evening or at bedtime, swallowed whole with a glass of water.

The tablet may be taken with or without food. If a dose is missed, take the next dose at the scheduled time without doubling the dose.

    Side Effects of VANISH

    • Muscle or joint pain.

    • Headache or mild dizziness.

    • Gastrointestinal disturbances such as abdominal pain or nausea.

    • Bloating or flatulence.

    • Mild elevation of liver enzyme levels.

    • Fatigue or general tiredness.

    Contraindications of VANISH

Do not use this medication if you have a known hypersensitivity to ezetimibe, simvastatin, or any of the other ingredients in the formulation.

It is contraindicated in patients with active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of liver enzymes.

VANISH must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It should also not be taken together with certain strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, including some antifungal medications and macrolide antibiotics, because they can significantly increase simvastatin levels and the risk of serious muscle toxicity.

Discontinue the medication immediately and seek medical attention if unexplained severe muscle pain, tenderness, weakness, or dark-colored urine develops.

    VANISH Alternatives

    • Inegy.

    • Zocor.

    • Ezetrol.

    • Simvast.

    Use During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

This medication is contraindicated during pregnancy because cholesterol-lowering therapy with statins may harm the developing fetus. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception throughout treatment.

VANISH should not be used during breastfeeding, as it is unknown whether the medication passes into breast milk and may pose a risk to the nursing infant.

If pregnancy occurs during treatment, discontinue the medication immediately and consult your physician.

    Storage Conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

Keep in a dry place away from moisture and direct light.

Store out of the reach of children.

Do not use the medication after the expiration date printed on the package.
