Cazet tablets 10/40 mg

    Medicine Description

Cazet tablets are a combination medication used to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and high triglyceride levels in the blood. This medication contains two active ingredients: ezetimibe (10 mg) and simvastatin (40 mg). Ezetimibe works by blocking the absorption of cholesterol from the intestine. Simvastatin belongs to a class of medications known as statins, which work by reducing cholesterol production in the liver. This combination of two different mechanisms provides stronger control of blood lipid levels.

Cazet tablets contain the following active ingredients:

    Ezetimibe: 10 mg.

    Simvastatin: 10 mg.

The tablets also contain inactive ingredients.

    Indications for Use

Primary hypercholesterolemia: to lower total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels in patients who cannot control their levels through diet alone.

Heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia: as an adjunctive therapy.

Hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia: to help lower triglyceride levels as well.

Reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease: in patients at high risk.

What is the dosage of Cazet?

Cazet tablets should be taken as directed by your doctor. The dosage depends on your target cholesterol levels and your patient's response. The usual dose is one tablet daily in the evening.

Swallow the tablet whole with water. The medication can be taken with or without food. It is preferable to take the medication in the evening because most of the liver's cholesterol production occurs at night. It is also important to continue to follow a healthy diet and exercise while taking this medication.
