Diamicron MR for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in adults reduces the risk of complications of the disease such as heart disease, stroke and kidney disease.
Diamicron MR also reduces the risk of death from diabetes-related causes and reduces the need to use other medications. It is a second-generation sulfonylurea derivative that stimulates the secretion of insulin by pancreatic cells and increases the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to it.
