Medicine Description
Syntocinon is used to promote uterine contractions and achieve vaginal delivery in certain maternal or fetal conditions. It is also used as an adjuvant treatment in cases of miscarriage and to help control bleeding after childbirth.
Syntocinon contributes to inducing labor in women who start labor naturally. This endogenous uterine stimulating hormone triggers successive contractions in the uterus similar to those that occur in natural childbirth. In addition, it has antidiuretic and vasoconstrictive effects.
