Unistin ampoules are used to treat various types of cancer, such as bone marrow cancer and lymphoma. They contain melphalan, which destroys cancer cells by affecting DNA and preventing cell division. This medication is given either orally in the form of tablets or intravenously. The method of use is determined according to the patient's condition. Unistin requires close medical supervision because its use may cause a severe decrease in blood cells, which exposes the patient to the risk of infection or bleeding. Some side effects may also appear, such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and hair loss. Kidney and liver functions must be monitored during the treatment period. It is not recommended to use
Unistin during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The doctor must be informed of any other medications being taken to avoid interactions and complications.
