    Medicine Description

Thiotepa injection is a chemotherapy drug used to treat various types of cancer, such as breast cancer, bladder cancer, and ovarian cancer. It contains an active ingredient belonging to the alkylating agents group, which works to destroy cancer cells by affecting their DNA and preventing the cell from dividing and growing. It is used either intravenously or sometimes locally inside the bladder, depending on the type of tumor and the patient's condition. The patient must be closely monitored during treatment because Thiotepa may cause a decrease in white blood cells and platelets, which increases the risk of infection and bleeding. It may also cause nausea, skin rash, and hair loss. Liver and kidney functions must be monitored regularly. It is not recommended to use Thiotepa during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The doctor must be informed of all other medications being taken to avoid interactions and complications.
