Medicine Description
Isopto atropine eye drops are used to dilate the pupil and relieve spasms of the inner eye muscles. They are useful in some cases of iritis or when a thorough examination of the fundus by an ophthalmologist is needed, as they help reduce pain resulting from contraction of the inner eye muscles and facilitate the medical examination. Isopto atropine contains an active ingredient that inhibits the muscle response to acetylcholine, which leads to relaxation of the muscles responsible for constricting the pupil. The drops are placed inside the affected eye according to the doctor's instructions. The specified dose must be adhered to carefully, while taking care to wash hands before use and avoid touching the tip of the dropper to the eye to prevent contamination.
Isopto atropine should be used with caution, especially in children and the elderly, with regular medical follow-up to assess response and monitor possible side effects.
