Acitretin capsules are used to treat severe and chronic cases of psoriasis that do not respond to topical treatments. They work by reducing the rapid proliferation of skin cells that causes scaling and inflammation. They are also used in some other skin disorders such as ichthyosis and some cases of keratoderma.
