Elugel is a topical oral gel used for oral and gum health. It primarily contains the active ingredient chlorhexidine, a powerful antiseptic widely used to reduce the growth of bacteria in the mouth. Elugel is used to treat gum infections and prevent infection after oral surgical procedures such as tooth extractions or deep tartar cleanings. It is also used in cases where regular tooth brushing is difficult, such as after surgery or when wearing braces. The gel helps reduce bacterial deposits, soothe irritation and redness in the gums, and promote the healing process of oral tissues. Elugel is applied directly to the gums or affected area using a soft brush or finger, usually two to three times daily without rinsing the mouth with water afterwards to ensure its effectiveness.
