Konakion is used to prevent and treat bleeding conditions resulting from vitamin K deficiency. This vitamin plays a major role in the blood clotting process, as it helps form the proteins responsible for blood clotting. Konakion is given to newborns in most cases immediately after birth to reduce the risk of infant bleeding, also known as neonatal bleeding. This bleeding can occur due to vitamin K deficiency.
Konakion is used to treat some disorders related to blood clotting, especially in cases such as chronic liver disease, where liver function is impaired and leads to a deficiency in the production of proteins responsible for blood clotting.
