Rimactane is used to treat tuberculosis, as it is considered a major part of the long-term treatment of this chronic disease, and is often prescribed with other medications to achieve better effectiveness. Rimactane is used to prevent the spread of infection to people who have had direct contact with cases of meningitis, especially those caused by Neisseria meningitidis or Haemophilus influenzae.
Rimactane is also prescribed to treat specific cases of other bacterial infections caused by resistant strains or when a severe infection occurs that requires strong intervention.
