About Fusidic acid A bacteriostatic Steroid Antibiotic, Systemic antibacterial, anti-infective. Mechanism of Action of Fusidic acid Fusidic acid is a bactericidal or bacteriostatic drug depending upon the concentration. It inhibits the transfer of aminoacid from aminoacyl sRNA to the protein. This will leads to inhibition of protein synthesis in the bacteria and prevent the growth of microbes. Indications for Fusidic acid Primary and secondary skin infections 1. Impetigo 2. Erythrasma 3. Folliculitis 4. Sycosis barbae 5. Hidradenitis
