Tarivid is used to treat respiratory tract infections such as acute or chronic pneumonia, and infections that affect the bronchi. It is also used to treat some types of urinary tract infections such as bladder or kidney infections, in addition to genital infections such as urethritis and uncomplicated gonorrhea.
Tarivid is also prescribed to treat skin infections and some soft tissue infections caused by bacteria sensitive to it, as well as in certain cases of middle ear and sinus infections. Sometimes it is used as part of a complex treatment plan in the case of infection of the digestive tract resulting from certain bacteria.
