Lincocin is used to treat bacterial infections caused by certain types of bacteria that are sensitive to the active ingredient in the drug, which is lincomycin. This drug is commonly used in cases of respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, in addition to bone and joint infections.
Lincocin can also sometimes be used to treat genital tract infections or dental and gum infections, especially if other antibiotics are not effective or if the patient is allergic to penicillin.
