Ospexin is used to treat respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone infections, urinary tract infections, and to prevent bacterial endocarditis.
Ospexin is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. This drug works by recognizing and binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial cell wall. Once this binding occurs, cephalexin interferes with the vital functions of these proteins, disrupting the production and strengthening of the bacterial cell wall.
