Tonus Dosage
The usual adult dose generally ranges from 5 mg to 10 mg daily, either as a single dose or divided into multiple doses

The dose is preferably taken in the morning with breakfast or lunch. If advised by the physician, it should not be
taken late in the day to reduce the likelihood of sleep disturbances.
Patients should strictly follow the prescribed dosage and should not adjust the dose or discontinue treatment without
consulting their healthcare provider to achieve the best therapeutic outcomes while minimizing the risk of side
effects.

Contraindications of Tonus
This medication must not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to selegiline or any of the other ingredients

It is also contraindicated when taken concurrently with other antidepressants or potent opioid analgesics such as
meperidine, due to the risk of developing potentially life-threatening serotonin syndrome.
Its use should also be avoided in patients with active peptic ulcer disease or those with severe renal or hepatic
impairment to ensure patient safety.

How to Use Tonus Correctly
The tablet should be taken with a full glass of water at the same time each day to achieve optimal therapeutic
effectiveness. It is preferable to take the medication with food to help reduce the possibility of stomach upset or

Patients should also follow any dietary recommendations provided by their physician. When high doses are prescribed,
or if specifically advised by the physician, foods rich in tyramine, such as aged cheeses and certain processed meats,
