Os-Cal calcium carbonate is used as an antacid to relieve symptoms of indigestion, peptic ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease, and to treat or prevent calcium deficiency, such as osteoporosis, kidney failure, and hypothyroidism.
Os-Cal is also used to treat high levels of phosphate in the blood, as it binds to phosphate and reduces its absorption.
