    Medicine Description

Cardura XL tablets are a medication used to treat two common conditions: benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and high blood pressure. This medication contains the active ingredient doxazosin at a concentration of 4 mg in the form of extended-release tablets. Doxazosin belongs to a class of medications known as alpha-1 blockers. This medication works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, facilitating urine flow. It also relaxes the smooth muscles in the walls of blood vessels, causing them to dilate and thus lowering blood pressure. Doxazosin is also available in 1 mg and 4 mg strengths in a non-extended-release form.
