    Psychodal tablets contain the active ingredient risperidone at a concentration of 4 mg in each tablet. Risperidone belongs to a class of medications known as atypical antipsychotics, or second-generation antipsychotics. Psychodal is also available in other strengths, such as 1 mg, 2 mg, and 3 mg, to suit different dosage needs.

    Indications for Use of Psychodal

    Psychodal tablets are used to treat the following conditions:

    Schizophrenia in adults and adolescents over the age of 13.

    Acute manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar disorder in adults and adolescents over the age of 10.

    Irritability associated with autism in children and adolescents.

    Psychodal may also be used for other conditions determined by the doctor, such as certain types of severe behavioral disorders.

    What is the dosage of Psychodal?

    Psychodal tablets should be taken as directed by the doctor. The dosage depends on the condition being treated, the patient's age, and their response to treatment. The usual adult dosage for treating schizophrenia may start at a low dose, such as 0.5 mg or 1 mg once or twice daily, and then gradually increase to an effective dose of 4 to 6 mg daily, divided into one or two doses. For bipolar disorder or autism, the dosage is usually lower and starts at very low doses. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food. It is preferable to take it at the same time each day. It is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage and duration of treatment specified by the doctor, and not to stop taking the medication suddenly without consulting a doctor.
