Medicines that affect the analysis of stomach bacteria

Medicines that affect the analysis of stomach bacteria
Client Question: male - Age: 33

I had an endoscopy which revealed I have Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) and inflammation in my stomach and colon. I completed a two-week course of treatment for H. pylori and continued taking stomach medications for two months, including Danoprazole. Now I want to get tested for H. pylori, and the doctor told me to stop taking Danoprazole for three weeks first before getting tested. However, I have heartburn and want to take medication for it that won't affect the test results. Is this possible?

Doctor Answer:

Hello

There are many alternatives to relieve acidity, such as Maalox, Gaviscon, and also Controloc, but you must consult a doctor to prescribe the appropriate doses for your condition, if possible.

My wishes for a speedy recovery.
