    Medicine Description

Cytoblastin is a chemotherapy drug used to treat several types of cancer, such as breast cancer, bladder cancer, and lymphoma. It contains vinblastine, a plant alkaloid. Vinblastine works to prevent cancer cells from dividing by affecting important components within the cell known as microtubules, which leads to stopping the growth of malignant cells and destroying them. Cytoblastin is given intravenously under the supervision of a specialized doctor. The patient requires close monitoring during treatment because Cytoblastin may cause a decrease in red blood cells and platelets, which increases the risk of infection and bleeding.
