Medicine Description
Elidel Cream is primarily used to treat mild to moderate atopic dermatitis or eczema, especially when corticosteroids (topical cortisone) are not appropriate or when long-term side effects are desired. Elidel acts as a topical immunosuppressant, reducing inflammation and itching by reducing the activity of immune cells in the skin without causing skin thinning as can occur with cortisone.
Elidel is usually applied twice daily to the affected areas of the skin and can be used for longer periods as needed and under the supervision of a physician, making it a suitable option for treating sensitive areas such as the face, neck, and genital areas.
