Sodium Thiosulphate is used to treat cyanide poisoning by converting cyanide into less toxic compounds that are easily eliminated by the kidneys. It can be used as a topical antifungal to treat certain skin infections such as pityriasis versicolor. It acts as a deodorant for certain toxic chemicals in medical and industrial settings. It is also used to help reduce the effects of certain chemical burns such as hydrofluoric acid.
