Augmentin injections are used in adults and children to treat a range of infections, including middle ear and sinus infections, respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, including dental infections, bone and joint infections. Penicillin works to eliminate bacteria by binding its beta-lactam ring to the transpeptidase enzyme responsible for forming the bacterial cell wall.
