Medicine Description
Vetomikacin Vial is a highly effective antibiotic belonging to the aminoglycoside class. It contains the active
ingredient amikacin, which works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to the destruction of susceptible
bacteria, particularly Gram-negative organisms.
It is used in the treatment of severe and complicated bacterial infections involving the respiratory tract,
bloodstream, bones, and urinary tract. Vetomikacin is typically reserved for serious infections and is administered
under close medical supervision, usually in hospital settings.

Use During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
The use of Vetomikacin during pregnancy should generally be avoided and reserved only for life-threatening infections
when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus, as aminoglycosides may affect fetal
hearing and kidney function.
Small amounts of amikacin may pass into breast milk. A physician should determine whether breastfeeding can be
continued during treatment, and both the mother and infant should be monitored if the medication is considered
necessary.
