Verzenio Tablets are a targeted anticancer medication used in the treatment of certain types of breast cancer. They
belong to the cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4 and 6 inhibitor class and contain the active ingredient abemaciclib.
The medication works by blocking chemical signals that promote cancer cell growth and division, thereby slowing or
stopping the proliferation of cancer cells. It is used in the treatment of selected cases of advanced or metastatic
breast cancer and has demonstrated significant clinical benefit when used according to approved treatment protocols.

Verzenio Dosage
The usual recommended dose is 150 mg twice daily when used in combination with endocrine therapy. When used as
monotherapy, the recommended dose is 200 mg twice daily.
Your oncologist may adjust or reduce the dose based on your response to treatment, laboratory findings, and the
occurrence of adverse effects. Always follow the prescribed treatment plan and do not change the dose without medical
advice.
Side Effects of Verzenio
Diarrhea, which is one of the most common side effects and may be severe, particularly during the early stages of
treatment.
Nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite.
Fatigue, general weakness, and headache.
Reduced white blood cell count, increasing the risk of infection.
Contraindications of Verzenio
Do not use Verzenio if you are allergic to abemaciclib or any of the product's ingredients.
The medication should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding because it may cause serious harm to the fetus or
nursing infant. It should also be used with caution and under close medical supervision in patients with severe liver
or kidney impairment or those with active lung disease.

How to Use Verzenio Correctly
Take the medication at the same times each day, usually morning and evening, with or without food, as directed by your
physician. Swallow the tablet whole with an adequate amount of water. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet.
Drink plenty of fluids throughout treatment. If diarrhea develops, contact your physician promptly so that appropriate
treatment can be started early. Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice during treatment, as it may increase
the concentration of abemaciclib in the body and raise the risk of side effects.
