Velcade Dosage

The medication is usually administered twice weekly for two consecutive weeks, followed by a 10-day rest period. It is given by intravenous or subcutaneous injection by a qualified healthcare professional.

Side Effects of Velcade

• Peripheral neuropathy with numbness or pain in the extremities.

Contraindications of Velcade

The medication should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the potential benefits clearly outweigh the risks, as determined by the treating physician.

Use During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Velcade is contraindicated during pregnancy because it may cause serious harm to the developing fetus. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception throughout treatment and for the period recommended by their physician after the last dose.

Breastfeeding should also be avoided during treatment because the medication may pass into breast milk. If pregnancy occurs unexpectedly during treatment, the treating physician should be consulted immediately.
