    Medicine Description

Travoswix eye drops are used to help maintain eye health and treat elevated intraocular pressure. The active ingredient helps protect the optic nerve from damage caused by increased eye pressure, reducing the risk of vision loss associated with glaucoma.

The medication works by enhancing the natural outflow of aqueous humor from the eye, thereby lowering intraocular pressure and maintaining it within a safe range throughout the day. Regular use helps reduce the risk of long-term complications of glaucoma that can affect both peripheral and central vision.

    Travoswix Ingredients

    • Travoprost

    Travoswix Strengths

    • 0.004% ophthalmic solution, 2.5 mL bottle.

    • Travoswix Plus eye drops, 2.5 mL bottle.

    Uses of Travoswix

    • Lowering elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma.

    • Treating ocular hypertension to help protect the optic nerve and preserve vision.

    • Promoting the drainage of aqueous humor to prevent the accumulation of fluid within the eye.

    Dosage of Travoswix

The usual dose is one drop in the affected eye, or both eyes if prescribed, once daily, preferably in the evening and at the same time each day to maintain consistent control of intraocular pressure.

Patients should use only the prescribed dose. Increasing the number of drops or the frequency of administration does not improve effectiveness and may reduce the medication's therapeutic response.

    Side Effects of Travoswix

    • Temporary redness of the conjunctiva or a mild burning or stinging sensation immediately after instillation.

    • Gradual darkening of the iris color and increased length, thickness, or number of eyelashes.

    • Temporary dry eyes or increased sensitivity to bright light following application.

    Contraindications

This medication should not be used by individuals with known hypersensitivity to travoprost or any of the other ingredients in the ophthalmic solution.

It should also be avoided in patients with active iritis, ocular inflammation, or a history of uveitis , unless specifically recommended and closely monitored by an ophthalmologist, as it may worsen these conditions.

    Travoswix Alternatives

    How to Use Travoswix Correctly

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before using the eye drops. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to the eye, eyelids, or any other surface to prevent contamination.

Tilt your head backward, gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket, and instill one drop as prescribed.

Close your eye gently and apply light pressure to the inner corner of the eye near the nose for about one minute to reduce systemic absorption and enhance the local effect of the medication.

Remove contact lenses before using the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them unless your physician advises otherwise.

    Storage Conditions

    • Store in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

    • Discard the bottle 4 weeks after first opening, even if some solution remains.

    • Keep the bottle tightly closed after each use and out of the reach of children.
