    Medicine Description

Topinoid Gel is a topical dermatological medication formulated for the management of advanced skin conditions. It contains tazarotene, a retinoid that promotes skin cell renewal by accelerating the turnover of epidermal cells.

The gel helps remove dead skin cells, reduces scaling associated with psoriasis, and improves acne lesions.

It also enhances the skin's overall appearance by reducing localized inflammation associated with certain chronic skin disorders, stimulating the growth of healthy new skin cells, and gradually restoring the skin's natural texture, balance, and elasticity.

    Topinoid Ingredients

    • Tazarotene

    Topinoid Strength

    • 0.05% gel, available in a 15 g tube.

    Uses of Topinoid

    • Treatment of mild to moderate plaque psoriasis and reduction of associated scaling.

    • Management of acne vulgaris, including pimples and blackheads on the face and back.

    • Promotion of skin cell renewal and improvement of pigmentation caused by prolonged sun exposure.

    • Improvement in the appearance of fine lines and superficial facial wrinkles.

    Topinoid Dosage

The usual dose is to apply a very thin layer of the gel to the affected area once daily, preferably in the evening, or as directed by the physician.

To minimize the risk of skin irritation, treatment may initially begin with a small amount or with application every other day before gradually increasing the frequency according to the patient's skin tolerance.

Patients should strictly follow the prescribed dose and treatment duration and should not apply larger amounts or increase the frequency of application without medical advice.

    Topinoid Side Effects

    • Noticeable skin redness and dryness, particularly during the first few weeks of treatment.

    • Mild stinging or temporary burning sensation immediately after application.

    • Peeling of the outer skin layers and increased sensitivity to sunlight.

    • Mild itching at the application site.

    Contraindications of Topinoid

This gel should not be used by individuals with known hypersensitivity to tazarotene or any of the other ingredients in the formulation.

It is strictly contraindicated during pregnancy and in women planning to become pregnant because of the potential risk of serious fetal harm. It should also not be applied to open wounds, severe eczema, or severe sunburned skin.

    How to Use Topinoid Correctly

Gently wash the affected area and dry it thoroughly. Wait 15–20 minutes after cleansing before applying the gel, especially if the skin has just been washed, as this helps reduce the likelihood of irritation.

Apply only a pea-sized amount and spread it gently over the affected areas without excessive use.

Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, corners of the nose, and other mucous membranes. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after applying the gel unless the hands are the treatment area.

    Storage Conditions

    • Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

    • Protect from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Do not freeze.

    • Keep the gel tightly closed in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
