    Medicine Description

Rabicid tablets are a medication used to reduce stomach acid secretion, providing effective relief from the symptoms of heartburn and acid reflux. These tablets contain the active ingredient rabeprazole in 10 or 20 mg doses. This substance significantly reduces stomach acid production, helping heal gastric and duodenal ulcers, relieve the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and protect the esophagus from acid damage.

What are the ingredients in Rabicid?

Rabicid tablets contain the following active ingredient:

    Rabeprazole: 10 or 20 mg.

In addition to this active ingredient, the tablets contain inactive ingredients.

Rabicid tablets are used to treat:

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): to relieve the symptoms of heartburn, indigestion, and erosive or non-erosive esophagitis.

Gastric and duodenal ulcers: To help heal ulcers and reduce pain.

Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: A rare condition characterized by excessive acid secretion.

Erosive esophagitis: To treat and prevent recurrence.

Helicobacter pylori infections: As part of combination therapy with antibiotics to eliminate the bacteria and reduce the risk of ulcer recurrence.

Treatment aims to reduce stomach acid secretion, relieve symptoms, and promote healing of damaged tissue.

What are the dosages of Rabicid?

Rabicid tablets should be taken as directed by your doctor. The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the medical condition and its severity.

The usual adult dosage is 20 mg once daily.

It is preferable to take the tablet in the morning, approximately 30 minutes before breakfast, as taking it before meals improves its effectiveness. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. It should not be chewed, crushed, or broken.

The duration of treatment varies depending on the condition; it may be a few weeks for esophagitis or ulcers, and it may be longer in cases of chronic reflux.

Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without consulting a doctor, especially in cases of chronic reflux.
