Zantac is used to treat indigestion, stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, stress ulcer prevention, gastric hypersecretion, nocturnal hyperchlorhydria, and drug-induced gastritis.
Zantac also treats asthma, erosive esophagitis, and gastric reflux. Ranitidine belongs to a group of medicines called histamine blockers. This works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces.
