Comparison of the difference between Atoreza and Crestor tablets for lowering blood cholesterol levels

19 April 2025

Both Atoreza and Crestor are used to lower levels of "bad" cholesterol (LDL-C) and other lipids in the blood to help prevent and treat cardiovascular disease. However, they differ in the active ingredients they contain, leading to differences in their mechanism of action and potential effectiveness.

    Atoreza Tablets Ingredients

Atoreza tablets contain a combination of two active ingredients that work together to lower cholesterol in two different ways:

Ezetimibe: works by inhibiting the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine, reducing the amount of cholesterol that reaches the liver.

Atorvastatin: belongs to a class of statin drugs (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors) and works by inhibiting an enzyme in the liver responsible for producing cholesterol, leading to lower blood cholesterol levels.

    Crestor Tablets Ingredients

Crestor tablets contain the active ingredient rosuvastatin. Rosuvastatin also belongs to the statin class and works in the same way as atorvastatin by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase in the liver, reducing cholesterol production and helping the liver remove more cholesterol from the blood. Rosuvastatin is a highly effective statin for lowering cholesterol.
