Melocam UAE About Meloxicam NSAID, Thiazole derivative, Oxicam class, Analgesic,anti-inflammatory. Mechanism of Action of Meloxicam This drug reduces the prostaglandin synthesis peripherally by inhibiting COX1 & COX2 isoenzymes. This results its antinflammatory action. It is a preferential COX2 inhibitor. It also inhibits TXA2 production. Indications for Meloxicam 1. Rheumatoid arthritis 2. Osteoarthritis 3. Ankylosing spondylitis 4. Acute gout
